Mundito Spanish offers immersive Spanish-language programs for every stage of life — toddlers, school-age children, teens, and adults. Our mission is to make learning Spanish joyful, meaningful, and lifelong.
Our Story
Mundito Spanish began as virtual Spanish lessons during the Covid-19 pandemic. After years of teaching overseas, founder Casey Cabbage began creating lesson plans for students grades K-5. Her vision was to bring the best of what she had learned abroad back to the students of her community.
In the fall of 2022, Mundito Spanish opened its first location in Nashville, offering us a safe environment to provide the most effective and hands on learning experience for students of all ages. Since that day, we have worked with thousands of students, expanded our program to offer adult and family classes, and created a special bilingual community here in Nashville.
Our Mission
At Mundito Spanish, our mission is to positively impact each student and the way they see the world by nurturing their curiosities for the Spanish language and culture, as well as encouraging their growth inside and outside the classroom. Our goal is to teach our students so they are confident in their language abilities and able to move forward and have a positive impact on the world!
The Difference
We are different from many other language programs because we have been able to take educational approaches from our experiences of teaching all over the world and bring it back here to Nashville. We have used what we have learned from these experiences to create a curriculum that ignites a passion for not just language, but for culture as well.
Our goal is to integrate a whole family approach, providing children and their loved ones the opportunity to learn and grow together. Families utilize tools from class to create more bilingual dialogue at home and in their community.
Community
Beyond the classroom, Mundito Spanish hosts free and low-cost community events throughout the year — story times, cultural celebrations, and family workshops — open to anyone who wants to experience Spanish in a fun, welcoming setting.
Our Team
Casey Cabbage
Lead Teacher & Founder
After graduating from the University of Tennessee, founder and lead teacher Casey Cabbage left the US to begin teaching English at a Montessori school in Beijing. She taught with teachers from China, US, Africa, Mexico, and other countries. After a year and a half in Beijing, she moved to a small pueblo in Andalucia, Spain to continue teaching. She was the only English teacher at her school.
In the fall of 2021, Casey set up a small booth at an event in Nolensville and talked about her mission to build bridges through the community by sparking a passion for Spanish language and culture. Since that day, this small program has grown into something amazing!
